I designed the front-end of a knowledge portal for international NGO Democracy International. Afghan2010.com allowed the client to post reports from the field as they monitored Afghanistan parliamentary elections and interact with policy makers & thought leaders back in Washington D.C.

Working with partner firm SocialContxt.com, I lead the creative direction for the project. The site required a fresh, clean feeling that put the amazing written and visual content from Democracy International on center stage. By taking user experience cues from news websites, we made the content easy to read and navigate. I also added a modern color palate that was professional and energetic without being dull or informal. Distinct visual sections for feature different types of content enforced a hierarchy of importance.
